Feedback / Experiences
Please send me your experiences with this program and I will post them here.

'We took two bicycles down to Mexico and were humbled by the reaction we got from the man we gave them to. He was taking the bus to work, leaving at 4:00 in the morning. He said it would let him leave later and save a great deal of money. We also gave him a child's bike for his 11 year old son, who started to cry when he found out he had a bicycle of his very own. The new owners of these bikes would never have been able to afford them on their own. Of course we all had our pictures taken together! When other tourists saw us giving the bikes away, they wanted to know about this program. We referred them to your website. So the news of giving a bicycle is spreading, thanks to your wonderful idea. Hope more people take up the cause. It's definitely a worthy one.'

'What a wonderful experience. We were a little hesitant but everything went smoothly at the airports. The person we gave the bicycle to in the Dominican Republic said to us, "I will remember you forever!" Next time we'll take two.'

'We spent 2 weeks in Cuba, taking along the bike my son had outgrown. We were able to pass the bicycle to a young woman to use as her only means to get to work. When we arrived on her doorstep unanounced and presented her with the bike, she was absolutely overwhelmed and speachless. Several days later when we saw her again, she had regained her tongue and thanked us profusely. It was a very neat experience and one we would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone travelling to a third world country. A bicycle we regard as old, outdated, or no longer useful here, is treasured there .'

'We are a Cycling Association here in Lima. Our name is Asociacion Deportiva Eco Ciclismo, we are a group interested in the development of cycling in children, young people and women who live in the less richest places. And increase the number of people who ride a bike to go to work, to relax or to maintain good health, and reduce the pollution and traffic in our city, but they are people that they doesn't have possibilities to buy a bike.'
Carlos Rojo Diaz - Peru
'Our teachers walk for two (2) hours to get to school and another two (2) hours back home after school. The bicycle program could be a good idea for our us if we can find one of these tourist to give us a bicycle. Is there anyway we can find out about them or can you advise the tourist who to give their bicycle?'
